How you could help

We're growing our team of volunteers and are looking for adults over 18 to join us.

  • Do you have skills you could share?
  • Are you good at organising events?
  • Could you help out occasionally or regularly assist a leader?
  • Perhaps you'd like to become a leader?

You don't need to have previous experience in scouting, or to have worked with young people before. Simply bring your energy and enthusiasm.

Volunteering with Scouts is flexible and can fit around your family and work commitments. We provide plenty of support and flexible training.

There's no need to commit. Come along to a session and see what our volunteers do before you decide whether it's for you.

Use your skills to help young people gain theirs.

What Scouting can do for you

Our adult volunteers get as much fun from Scouting as young people. You'll get the opportunity to:

  • Try a wide range of activities
  • Gain plenty of new experiences
  • Share your current skills and pick up new ones
  • Boost your career prospects
  • Feel proud to help your local community.
Build your skills. Boost your happiness.Connect with your local community.

We are actively recruiting for the following roles:

  • Communications lead – to make sure we’re sharing information in the best way, and grow engagement with our community.

  • An Events lead – to co-ordinate the organisation of our annual events, such as our Summer BBQ and our Bonfire Night.

  • Volunteers Co-ordinator – to take the lead in finding new volunteers, and inducting and supporting those we already have.

  • Members of a Facilities team – we’re looking for volunteers who can help our Facilities Trustee with day-to-day management and maintenance of the hut and grounds, and also for individuals with construction trade expertise who can provide advice on site improvements.
